I reckon this place has to be one of the Garden Centres around. the staff are more than willing to help - a great stock pf plants etc and the separate fish shop is always a pleasure to visit. I used to keep fish so it is quite nice to have a browse while I'm there.

The fish shop

Brilliant! What wonderfully helpful staff. Not one but two staff members were only to happy to assist me in re-populating my fish tank, nothing was to much hassle. I thought I knew what I wanted, however under expert knowledge and an obvious love of their job I came away with fish I had never heard of! Now that might sound bad, it isn't. My tank is now more alive than ever before! (ok, I am a beginner, the tank was populated when Igot it) A few goodies to boot and I came away a very very happy man. I am looking forward to my next visit. Ecellent! (shame there is no sixth star!!)

I only popped in to kill a bit of time and boy did I do that ! I was in there ages ! What a largde selection of everything you could possibly want to do with gardening - I loved the fountains, I just wish I had a garden to put one in along with some lovely big fish in a pond. They also have a really nice cafe too and all the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Stewarts is a really nice garden centre with friendly well trained staff. On a recent visit with my son in a pushchair, I decided to also pull a trolley with my compost purchase. On no fewer than three occasions on my way to the till, different members of staff stopped me to offer to help.

Stewarts Garden Centre

A spacious garden centre with a good stock of bedding plants, a tempting selection of gifts and ornaments. Some lovely candles and books. Stewarts also has a nice cafe with a big selection of cakes. The new toilets are impressive too. Christmas is always a big event at Stewarts with their lovely decorated trees and tables set out in room settings. I was slightly disppointed with the smaller range of Christmas decorations this year though.

Worth a visit

A fab garden centre with excellent well trained staff always willing to advise. The garden centre comes in to its own at christmas offering a wonderful selection of decorations, tree's and novilties for the children. The food in the restaurant is home made and tastes amazing but beware...nothing at Stewarts is cheap, be prepared to spend a bit more!

A really smart garden centre,with friendly staff always willing to give advice.
Its especially popular over the festive period with the santas grotto,they also have a great selection of christmas decorations to choose from and these are displayed to a particually high standard.
The restaurant is also worth a try.

A Lovely garden centre

Stewarts is certainly worth a visit, I tend to bring my children here at christmas (where they have a fabulous santa's grotto) and halloween, where you can go around with the little ones spotting all the witches etc. The plants, gifts and food in the restaurant are all quite expensive but once in a while it makes a nice trip out.
