Twynham

School celebrated record breaking A-level results with an overall

pass rate of 99% and an average points score per student of 300 UCAS

points yesterday

Twynham had a

large number of successes, amongst which was that eight students (Ollie

Hurst, Jordan Arthur, Ella Perry, Natasha Hopkins, Ben Joakim, Matthew

Singleton, Gemma Cork-Simpson and Sarah Grantham-Hill) each scored over

480 UCAS points – which is equivalent to four grade As at A-Level.

Ollie Hurst was the highest achiever with three A* grades and one A

grade scoring 540 points. In addition, a total of 35 students gained the

equivalent of at least 3 Grade As at A-Level; almost half of the grades

were at A*-B and there were 20 A* grades.

Dr Terry Fish, Headteacher, said "I am delighted with the continued success of our 6th Form students

and these results are a testament to the hard work of the students and

to the dedication of their teachers.  It must be remembered that these

exceptional results are due to ‘proper’ A-Level subjects and not to some

dubious ‘equivalents.  I am absolutely delighted with the success of

all of our students and I am particularly proud of the results of our

most able students – their performance has been nothing other than

spectacular"
