We had a lovely meal here - a little pricey maybe for what we got but you couldnt fault service and presentation - a nice place and lovely location.

Well despite what the previous reviews say we had a lovely meal here, but I guess you need to bear in mind that it is primarily a hotel the clues in the title! As a hotel it simply cant be faulted the rooms are very modern, very clean, and somehow hugely spacious, with wonderful en-suites and very comfy beds. The staff are all very welcoming and its all at such an amazingly low price, far less than you would expect to pay for far more!

I went there with my Husband for our 1st Anniversary. I was pregnant so we chose to go on a Saturday afternoon. They were not busy and only had 2/3 tables when we arrived and we had booked beforehand. The staff didn't offer to take our coats, and left us without offering drinks for ages. They bought out my meal and my Husband's steak but forgot his chips. They asked us if we wanted more bread while he had to wait but it did not turn up till after we had both finished. I had ordered risotto which I had to start eating as it was going cold and by the time he got his chips I had finished my meal and he had nearly eaten all his steak.
The decor is lovely, the food was average but the service really let them down and it was a real disappointment. We could not recommend anyone to go there or want to go back ourselves from that experience. We thought it would be a lovely place to spend our Anniversary but unfortunately we were wrong.
We promptly moved onto The Boathouse for dessert as we just did not want to stay there any longer. The Boathouse do the most gorgeous flavoured ice-creams so the day was not a complete washout!
