I couldn't agree more with the last review - everytime we go the food is always cooked to perfection and the staff are some of the friendliest around

Christchurch Italian Restaurant - La Mama's gets a big thumbs up !
It;s been a good 9 months or so since we visited La Mamas in Christchurch again and I'm pleased to say, neither the food nor the service disappointed us in any way.
The staff can not do enough to help and make you feel welcome and the food is perfect every time. We ordered steaks, one rare, one medium and one very well done - each one was cooked to perfection and all delivered hot and at the same time. Totally lovely restaurant.
Very well done to the owners and staff who obvioously work very hard.

Traditional Italian
We've been several times and were impressed with everything - OK the food's not high end cuisine but it's pretty good and the staff and the atmosphere on a busy evening make up for it, we'd like to go more often but the budget won't stretch, but it must be difficult for an excellent local independent restaurant to compete with one of the big 'nationals' (like Prezzo) with their permanent BOGOF deals. Good luck to them anyway ... hope they keep going for another 36 years ...

la Mammas a hit for pizza in my book
La Mammas is a great place. Very reasonable prices and ultra friendly and helpful staff. Pizzas a speciality and lerrrvly !

Impressed
I was dubious of La Mamma, looking at it from the outside, but it is in fact lovely. There's a huge range of dishes to choose from and always tasty things on the specials board. The food is fresh and well cooked, and the service is friendly and fast.
