Nelson Tavern in Christchurch fantastic atmosphere...

It was packed owing to the England rugby match being shown on the pub's two large screens. But the atmosphere was friendly - if not somewhat loud!!! To be expected. Good menu selection especially the Thai options which were delicious. Great pub garden although attention drawn to signage to keep the noise down - obvious neighbour issues. And the carpark is tiny.

    The Thai food at The Nelson is so good! Mixed with a great selection of beers and ales, The Nelson is a hotspot in Christchurch.

    OK, but can be cold in winter, they have stats on the radiators which are turned to low. I think a bit on the expensive side - there's better Thai pub a ten minute walk away. But always a good atmosphere.

    I really like the Nelson. The food is lovely and there is a choice between a full al a carte English menu and the Thai menu. You can even mix and match is you so choose. The service used to be very slow but was much better on my last visit.

    Went to the Nelson Tavern with other couples for a friends birthday.

    Lovely setting and great service

    Loved the choice of menu and it catered for everyone.

    A couple of our party are not Thai lovers so they were able to choose off one menu whilst the others ate from the thai menu.

    All looked lovely and my Thai meal was gorgeous - give it a go!!!
