Lesley, with you on both issues! Christchurch is out of line with national policy on cycling and pavements, and some of the "cycle lanes" are just ridiculous. No to wheelie bins - household waste goes up about 25% where wheelie bins are in use.

2010 and still using plastic bags, it is about time christchurch was dragged screaming and shouting into the 21st century. and is it about time hurn road had some money spent on it. terrible road surface. will it take a cyclist falling under a vehicle to get something done. do any councillors ever drive on this third world road. come on christchurch we dont all live in highcliffe...

I think there might be more important things - like sorting out what exactly the rules for cyclists and pedestrians are and then making sure both are as safe as possible; and I hate wheelie bins!
