Su Pollard Says; ‘Give Cash Not Cards This Christmas!’

Taking time out from her busy pantomime rehearsal schedule, Su Pollard is backing The Wessex Autistic Society’s ‘Give Cash Not Cards’ campaign this Christmas. Launched in October, the scheme already has many local business supporters, including Seeker Photography, TDSi, Puddle Ducks, Siemens, Doughty Engineering, Peter Lewis Tarmaccing, Prevent Pest Control and many more, all pledging to donate money saved on Christmas cards and postage to the local charity.
The Christchurch based charity is hopeful that a little pantomime spirit will prompt further companies (or individuals) to join the campaign! This year’s Give Cash Not Cards is bigger and better than ever with the new addition of a free e-card which will be given to each participant to send to their contacts list ensuring companies can still wish clients and suppliers a Merry Christmas.
After Christmas, all participants are invited to a special reception for a mass cheque presentation. Already this year many of the companies who took part in last year’s highly successful campaign have signed up for 2009.
Debbie Anderson, Marketing and Fundraising Manager at The Wessex Autistic Society comments, “Why not add your company's name to the growing list and demonstrate to your customers and staff your commitment to the local community. If your company is unable to participate in this way then why not raise the money with your colleagues - instead of sending inter-office Christmas cards pledge a donation to the Appeal and we will supply you with special posters and desk notices so your colleagues know your intentions. If your company matches funds raised by employees then you can double your contribution by simply not doing anything!!” Participation is easy - just give Debbie Anderson a call on 01202 703584 or email d.anderson@twas.org.uk. The charity will then send you the required number of stickers.
Past support has been invaluable in ensuring The Wessex Autistic Society can continue to support people affected by autism in Dorset.
The Wessex Autistic Society will also be hosting a FREE carol concert at The Priory in Christchurch on 17 December 2009 with mulled wine and mince pies available. All are welcome. Raffle tickets for the Christmas prize draw will be sold at the event for just £1 per ticket with over 14 prizes available from holidays to champagne.

Su Pollard is backing a good cause, but it's hard to take her seriously with that mouth of hers.
