The supermarket is supporting the Charity’s Bag a Bra campaign as part of a year of fund-raising for the DSAA.
Bras of any colour, size, and quality can be taken to the store from January 16 to 27 during its opening hours.
At the end of the campaign, the bras will be collected and weighed by the Air Ambulance’s recycling partner, Bag It Up, to raise valuable funds for the Charity.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance fund-raising co-ordinator Annette Plaistow-Trapaud said: “We are delighted with the support we are receiving from Sainsbury’s and their customers.
“Our Bag a Bra campaign is just one of the ways the public can support us and raise awareness for the Charity.
“Initiatives like this are needed to help us raise the £3,800 a day cost of keeping our life-saving Air Ambulance flying, because we do not receive any direct Government or National Lottery funding.”
DSAA has just celebrated its 10th anniversary and has attended more than 7,600 emergencies since its launch, saving many lives with the speed at which casualties have been taken to hospital.
