Cllr. David Flagg - was born in Ringwood and has lived in Burton with his wife Denise for 29 years. In addition to his role as a borough councillor, he has been a Burton parish councillor for nine years.

He trained as a carpenter and joiner, following further career training, currently runs his own health and safety practice and is also a director of a photo processing outlet in Highcliffe which is managed by his son, Adrian.

David currently sits on the Licensing and Scrutiny Committees and is a Council representative on the Christchurch & District Sports Council and the Burton Youth Centre Management.

Hobbies and Pastimes - David is a keen lover of motorsports and can often be seen competing at Gurston Down Speed Hill Climb where he competes in his Subaru Impreza Sti RA which he shares with his son Adrian.

In the seventies and eighties David was a keen side drummer and was a member of the Ringwood Pipe Band for over ten years and still enjoys listening to the best that Scotland has to offer (the Canadians are also pretty good!!!)

David and Denise enjoy touring in their motorhome which David combines with a spot of fishing, something the have done very little of since David took on the office of Mayor. Besides listening to Pipeband music David also enjoys listening to Bob Marley, The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson to name a few.

He has also been appointed Squadron Drum Tutor for Christchurch Air Training Corps.
