Christchurch Remembrance Parade

On the 8th November, at 10am, 21 Air Cadets from 171 Christchurch squadron were freezing cold, yet ready for the parade. The parade stepped off from outside the Royal British Legion on Bargates, led by the Royal British Legion Band.
Everyone was wearing their poppies with pride. Cpl Potter carried the squadron’s standard and Cdt. Percival laid the wreath.
The parade was stunning, everyone remained in step with each other. The church service was concise and well presented. The “eyes right” when passing the mayor was sharp and we were applauded by people who were watching.
Mrs Glenda Smith said, “I’ve been watching the remembrance parade in Christchurch for five years now. This year’s turn out has been excellent and numbers are increasing each time. The air cadets were very smart, along with everyone else.” It didn’t rain and the parade was a very good one.

How lovely to see such a good turnout today. Especially such a strong representation for the youth of the community. The weather stayed fine, even through it was really chilly !!
