Over 2000 choirs took part in the area selection stage across the whole country in four categories; Childrens Choir, Youth Choir, Adult Choir and Open Category. The winners of the area selection stages were put through to the National Selection stage and from that stage four choirs from each of the four categories have been selected to compete in the Category Finals being held at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on 6th November 2010.
The Category winners and two wild-card winners selected from any category will go head to head for the title of Choir of the Year at the Grand Final on 28th November at The Royal Festival Hall, broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC 4.
Following their audition in the Children’s Category, the choir were thrilled with the judges’ comments which praised their musicality, great choral discipline, focus, movement and energy
- “A beautiful sound – smiling faces, clear tone and exquisitely clear words”.
- “Great choral discipline”.
– “So focused as a performance that it really touched us”.
– “Sheer Joy!”
