Home or Away ?

We’ve had such beautiful weather, ok with a slight hitch

here and there, but generally we’ve been enjoying the sunshine and you’ve got

to admit it – we do live in a beautiful part of the world.

With a variety of beaches on our doorstep, great cafe's,

bars, restaurants, entertainment, theatre, cinema and the New Forest all

enveloped in the lovely sunshine and without a language barrier, why would you

want to go abroad?

Just the start of a foreign holiday for a family can be

traumatic with delays at the airport, kids bored hungry, tired or all three at

once make for a very stressful start to what is supposed to be a time for

relaxation and a break !

One of the nicest holidays was one I took with my son when

he was about 7. It was a trip to Torquay. I was on my own with him and really

couldn’t face the hassle of going abroad – I checked the 10 day weather

forecast, picked a week and booked a campsite, which was just outside the town

itself. It was absolutely brilliant, no money changing issues, no language

problems, easy driving and plenty of things to do to keep us both entertained.

The weather was brilliant and it really made it feel like being on a “proper”

holiday.

For those who don’t even wish to travel even that far there

is, of course, the award-winning Sandy Balls Holiday Centre on the edge of

Fordingbridge.  It is a perfect getaway

for families, couples or friends.

Set in the New Forest it has a variety of accommodation,

woodland lodges, family holiday homes, serviced touring pitches and camping

fields. During most evenings entertainment is laid on and there is a games

room, swimming pool. You’ll find lots going on.

Check out their website at http://www.sandyballs.co.uk

If

you fancy a break which is located nearer the beach there is Hoburne Park, Christchurch.

Luxurious,

fully equipped static caravans and its convenient location will make you feel

like you’re on holiday even though you may not actually be that far from home !

Do much (or as little) as you

like: build up an appetite in the Park’s indoor and outdoor pools, play field,

tennis court, crazy golf course and Hoburne bowl. Keep the kids entertained

with Sammy Seahorse and our adventure playground. Explore the Park’s own nature

trail. Or, just get to know the neighbours over a long, balmy evening barbecue.

See what Hoburne Park can offer you on their website at http://www.hoburne.com/park-details/hoburne-park

Also don’t forget the beautiful

Jurasic coast and all its beauty all the way down to Portland.

If you do fancy getting away to

somewhere hot and foreign Christchurch has a variety of travel agents that can

temp you with various offers.

Bath Travel has offices in Highcliffe

and Christchurch and can be found at http://www.bathtravel.co.uk

With the holiday season in full swing, what are you plans

for a holiday this year, or have you done the unforgivable and taken the kids away

before the peak prices started ?

Are you staying home. If so do you think you can have a good

time, or indeed even better, than if you went away or are you going away

because you don’t feel like you have had a holiday unless you visit a foreign

country ?

Living in such an area of outstanding beauty I can't understand why anyone would want to waste hundreds of pounds going abroad when all they need is right on their doorstep. Beech and the New Forest....what more do you need?
