Young chefs eager
to try their hand at cooking will get a chance during the first weekend of
Christchurch Food & Wine Festival on Saturday 7 May and Sunday 8 May 2011.
Christchurch
Food Festival Education Trust will be mounting the popular Kids Kitchen on both
days, sponsored by Frettens Solicitors and Waitrose, at The Priory School in Wick Lane.
Children aged
11 to 14 years can join Liz Farrow, a renowned chef/lecturer from Bournemouth
and Poole College, to learn how to make their own pasta. Sessions will take
place at 10.30am, 12.30pm, and 3.30pm on each day and will last for
approximately 1 ½ hours.
All food and equipment will be provided; children just have to bring their own apron.
Places are limited to ten per session and must be booked in advance.
Younger
children, aged from 7 to 10 years, can also have fun cooking and tasting their
own healthy delicious food by joining Ester Davies, a local food nutritionist, for
'hands on' cooking sessions and food tastings as “Ester’s Little Chefs”. Dishes
to be cooked include Thai chicken skewers and strawberry delight.
Ester’s sessions
will take place at 10am, 12.30pm, and 3.30pm and will last for approximately 1
hour. Again, all food and equipment will be provided. Just bring an apron. Places
are limited to 12 per session and must be booked in advance.
Tickets for
both Liz’s Pasta Workshop and Ester’s Little Chefs cost just £5 per child, to
include a goodie bag, and are available from Christchurch Information Centre in
the High Street or by calling the Information Centre on 01202 471780.

Glad I haven't missed it. Really loved all the cheeses I got last year and those pints of cider I tried. The only downside was the showers we had. Hopefully we'll have lots of sun this year.
