What do you think of the planning application in for the premises that used to be Superbuys for "Change of use from A1 (Retail) to A3 (Restaurants & Cafes) to include alterations to the shopfront to provide an external seating area"

just found out were having a morrisons oh brilliant another shop i wont use, what about ASDA they have been trying for years to open in christchurch yet for some reason have been unable where m&s ,waitrose ,somerfield and look now morrisons have managed to get in very quickly and im not even gonna mention lidl and aldi cos they dont sell proper food and def not at prices i would pay for such yuck stuff appart from the odd thing that is edible so im still off to asda once a month to do my shopping then.
as for another cafe REALLY HONESTLY ???? do we really have to have another one all christchurch is is a coffee bar already, what about a primark lets get some shops in for those of us with low incomes shall we and not just cater for those willing to pay more for something that its worth. i am on a tight budget and i have to go to other towns to shop if i go to town its for a treat in costa (as they were the first real coffee bar) i think the fact all those other coffee shops up there have failed and closed should show we dont need another one so we and if you really do have to put another one in may as well bung it in under sovrign twynham where all the other failed cafes have been why change those premisis when one is avaliable few doors down.

pppffttt , why change that shop when few doors down is already a coffee bar , i may even point out that it has had several people in there and it fails for a reason, becasue we dont need anymore, what about primark , heard there will soon be a morrisons and query why christchurch has yet to allow asda into the town as they have been trying for ten or more years when they have let in in that time several other supermarkets haev breezed in ? so im still shopping out of the town am i yep, asda for clothes and food and all the rest . if im in christchurch its for my treat with the girls at costa as they were the first .
but christchurch wont listen they dont need to budget so why would they want an asda and ooo look a fab new coffee bar why dont we try it. yep council you get in what you want and dont listen to the rest of us hey. and for this were charged stupid amounts to live here, great.once my mums gone im off may as well live in the land of oldies in newmilton our shops are getting as bad as thiers. are we up and comming town or reversing into nothingness ?

Steve Cotton via Facebook - "Christchurch needs to have a good look at it's self .... Saxon square is a mess.. The old arcade is a state .. Rents too high .. No decent high street clothes shops... Nothing to draw people in ...... A good measure of how good a high street is is how many charity shops it has .. The more the worse !!! Have a count people !!!"

I'm really undecided I think the points bethsmum and steve have are all really valid and i agree but I also come up the High Street and look at that awful frontage there glaring and horrible and I think - something which may be busy would be better than a grotty hole ? Having said that, there is a massive call for clothing shops in Christchurch I do agree.

How many more coffee shops, charity shops and hairdressers can there be for heavens sake. Our town is clogged with the above yet can I find a gents outfitters No!. The town no longer attracts the 'everyday family shopper' as there are no everyday shops left. We are like thousands of other Christchurch residents who find it easier driving to Poole, Bournemouth or Castle Point to shop. The bulk of pubs are now owned by ONE company[who charge ridiculous prices for alchol and food]. The council have allowed our freedom of choice to be taken away so that the owners of these pubs now have the monopoly, taking away our choice of places to drink and relax. The council continue to allow coffee shops, cafe's and charity shops to monopolise the number of premises in town. Wake up Christchurch Council YOU ARE KILLING OFF OUR TOWN. I say OUR town as many councilors behave as though it is THEIR town. We know of 8 couples who have moved to Bournemouth and Poole because like us they were sick of having to travel to these towns to get their range of everyday shops. We intend to follow for the same reason. It's a sad state of affair's when you have to travel from your town to another because the shops and services are lacking in your own High Srtreet.
