I have to say, I was a little slow on the uptake to see this film. However, I managed to ease myself from the couch potato slouch and went to see this film on Boxing Day in 3D.
As far as I'm concerned, it is one of the best films I have seen for a very, very long time. The animation was captivating, although there were some rather annoying moths that appeared in the cinema at one point in the jungle scene that kept bothering my face ! (only joking it was part of the film - the 3D was superb, not just for the moths sequence I hasten to add!) The storyline was upbeat and for those of us who are advancing in years and look for a non superficial storyline, carried a message of how we should be in-tune with where we live and how, in the fast paced life we lead, we have all lost the ability to stop and listen to what beauty surrounds us. There is also a love story in there plus, for the macho's out there the fight sequences and military vehicles, equipment and explosive scenes are second to none and totally gripping. The sci-fi technology is awe inspiring an I look forward to the day when I too can have my own Avatar to escape to ! A fantastic movie, well worth the watch but really HAS to be seen in 3D to appreciate its truly beautiful landscapes and flight scenes.

Yes!! You have to see it, it's great (and I hate sci-fi!) I loved it - especially the glasses ;-)
