Work to start on Avon Beach and Avon Run Road car parks

Work is due to start on the refurbishment of car parks at Avon Beach and Avon Run Road in Christchurch. The refurbishment works at Avon Beach car park include the construction of new access steps, the installation of electricity supply and ticket machines, the installation of barriers, minor drainage works, surfacing and lining work.

The refurbishment works at Avon Run Road car park include the construction of a new footpath next to the entrance slope, the reinstatement of the banks, surfacing and lining works.

PT Contractors Ltd will be undertaking the refurbishment on behalf of Christchurch Council. Work starts on 20 February at Avon Beach and 5 March at Avon Run Road. All work should be completed by Easter, though it may be subject to change if affected by adverse weather conditions.

Parts of the car parks will be kept open to users throughout the refurbishment works. Notices will be erected on site to advise customers of the works.
