The evening of Saturday November 12th and the The Christchurch Band of the Royal British Legion were on fine form. They gave a superb Armistice Concert to a full house at the Ferndown Royal British Legion Club.

It was the first time the band had performed there and they could not have received a warmer welcome anywhere.
Club Chairman Tony Birch thanked the band and said that It was like have their own "mini Albert Hall"
The band played favorites like the Dambusters March, Cockleshell Heroes and the Great Escape and the Poem Flanders Fields, in remembrance of the fallen, was read by the youngest member of the band at just 14 years old. Jaque Durrant.
A fantastic wartime singalong also was performed, with Val Cusack, the band Timpani player, taking to the stage to lead the singing and flagwaving.
What a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Well done to our local town band. Again, going from strength to strength.
