Twynham School celebrates record breaking A-level results today with an overall pass rate of 99% and an average points score per student of over 300 UCAS points. These are, again, the best results in the school's history.
The photo shows Alex Hale and Charlie Hole, two of the 6th Form’s top performers. Alex will be studying Medicine at Kings College, London and Charlie has decided to continue his music career rather than apply to University.
Twynham had a large number of successes, amongst which were twenty three students, each scoring over 360 UCAS points – which is equivalent to at least three grade As at A-Level.
Harriet De-Laine was the highest achiever with three A grades and one A* grade – all at full A-Level - scoring a total of 500 points.
An astonishing 55% of the grades were at A*-B and there were 17 A* grades.
Head Teacher Dr Terry Fish said "I am delighted with the continued success of our 6th Form students and these results are a testament to the hard work of the students and to the dedication of their teachers. It must also be remembered that these exceptional results are due to 'proper' A-Level subjects and not to some dubious 'equivalents or 'soft' subjects, in addition to the fact that our most able students actually achieved high grades in four complete A-Levels. I am absolutely delighted with their success and wish them all the very best for the future".
