Rats in the car park behind Marks and Spencer

I was wandering through the car park to the rear of Marks and Spencer the other day. As I drew close to the recycling skip towards the main entrance to the car park. i heard a rustling noise. There is large pile of undergrowth and leaf matter which seems to have compacted down nicely for a rather large population of rats. Their burrowing holes can be seen quite clearly.

I understand that with the massive amount of work which has been going on in Druitt Gardens and it's clearing up; there will have been disturbance to those grounds and its rodent population, which will have been undisturbed for goodness knows how long !
I was wondering if there is a programme going to be put in place to get rid of them ?- I wasn't quick enough with my camera to catch the rats darting in and out of the holes, but the photo shows one of their locations. Also as you cross the road from the playground to that car park entrance, you can hear them in the undergrowth as you walk around to Druitt Gardens entrance.
