Drop your Cigarette Butts in Christchurch and you WILL get fined !

While we were out and about in Christchurch we saw the Enforcement Officer and their sidekick in action and in hot pursuit of a "Butt Dropper" The on foot "chase" came to a climax when the Eagle Eyed Anti Butt Dropping Official called for reinforcements and 3 police cars arrived at the scene to apprehend the litterer !

The "Butt Droper" is unaware that the "Butt Droping Official" is on their case and in pursuit !

First police car appears with a WPC but further reinforcements soon arrive
What do you think this is excessive or totally justified ?

Sounds excessive but some people nowadays don't adhere to laws unless forced. PCSOs & enforcement officers have few powers so minor situations need to become more serious to call in police. What is needed are more proper Police on the ground not private, part-time or pretend ones.

Reportmay be people should find out what was really happening here before moaning at the police. im sure 3 cars werent sent out just for the bloke dropping a ciggie butt.
and saying you want to drop litter to keep people employed is nonsense - put your fag ends in a bin and stop being lazy

Will be thinking twice before coming to Christchurch to spend my money in future...
There are plenty of towns begging for customers that will not hassle like this story....
After all street cleaners need litter for keeping their jobs, or is it the Council want to create redundancies ???
