An inspirational charity is set to receive a welcome

fundraising boost from a local independent furniture company.

Julia's House, The Dorset Children's Hospice, offers respite

care to  Dorset

families, helping to enrich the quality of life for  children and young people with life-limiting

or life-threatening conditions. They provide support from diagnosis and beyond

for the whole family.

Staff from Cookes Furniture based in Christchurch

demonstrated their kindness and generosity when they presented Julia's House

with a cheque for £500, to help support the treatment of sick children.

Simon Houghton, sales manager for Cookes Furniture visited

Julia's House to take a look around and hand over the money. He said: "We were

absolutely delighted to be able to help Julia's House Hospice and to donate

such a great amount of money.

"Cookes Furniture truly values the meaning of family and

this hospice provides such great care, attention and support for so many

families across the region.  We hope the

£500 will help make a difference and provide them with the money to continue

such a great cause."

Sue Miles, community fundraiser for Julia's House said: "We

are over the moon and extremely grateful for Cookes Furniture's donation.

"The money donated will go

towards vital funding to help offer respite,

fun, therapies and, ultimately, end-of-life care to seriously ill children and

their families across the whole county."

"This donation will make such a

difference to the children that we care for and it is appreciated by both the

staff and the children here."

Cookes Furniture is known for helping local charities within

Christchurch and the surrounding areas. They

have been involved in many charitable activities and events.

Cookes was established in 1946 by Graham's father, Edward,

and today the management team includes the founder's three granddaughters,

Michelle, Vanessa and Jennifer.
