Christchurch Police hunt hit and run driver

Christchurch Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact them after a hit and run in Highcliffe.

On Sunday 6th January, a silver MG ZR collided with a man riding a scooter along Lymington Road toward Bure Lane at around 12.20am.

The scooter rider was thrown several metres from his bike and landed in the road, the MG driver left the scene and drove off towards New Milton.

Police Constable Bill Nightingall, of Christchurch police, said: "I am appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police urgently.

"The driver will undoubtedly be aware he struck the motorcyclist and fled without any regard for his welfare, and I would urge them to do the right thing and speak with the police.

"The victim is extremely lucky to have only suffered minor injuries.

"All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 06:011.
