The charity dinner given by the Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Nick Geary, has raised £3,600 for his charities.
The event took place at Christchurch Harbour Hotel where 120 guests were entertained before the dinner by the New Forest Children's Choir and later by the pianist Adam Horwich, who is a student at Highcliffe School.
The funds raised will be divided between the Mayor's three charities which this year are Christchurch Activities for Young People, First Opportunities and Portfield School.
The Mayor said: "I would like to thank everyone who attended the dinner
for their support. I am also very grateful to the local businesses who so
generously donated auction and raffle prizes which enabled us to raise such a large amount.
"I know that the money they will receive will make a big difference to all three charities."

I think this is wonderful - you dont really hear of the mayor doing much but obviously things go on behind the scenes and its great that such worthwhile charities, especially involving kids, can benefit.
