Christchurch Council sends condolences on death of Red Arrows pilot

The Mayor of Christchurch and the Leader of Christchurch Borough Council have signed the book of condolence for Flt Lt Jon Egging, the Red Arrows pilot who was killed when his plane came down on land in Christchurch on Saturday.

The Mayor, Cllr Sue Spittle and Cllr. Ray Nottage signing a book of condolence.
The Mayor, Cllr Sue Spittle, said: "This was a really tragic accident and our thoughts go out to the family of Flt Lt. Egging and all of the other members of the Red Arrows who must be shocked to have lost such a respected colleague."
The Leader of the Council, Cllr Ray Nottage, added: "This was a terrible end to another highly successful demonstration by the Red Arrows which gave so much pleasure to so many people.
"Since the accident, our Emergency Planning Officer and other members of staff have been working to help the police with their investigation into the incident. We have been in close liaison with emergency Planning colleagues in Bournemouth and the rest of the county to offer any support that we can."
