Christchurch Borough Council Awards Charity Grants

The Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr. Peter Hall, has presented cheques to seven charitable organisations that won the financial grants.
Mr. Hall said, " "I'm delighted to be presenting cheques to these worthy recipients. The Council is proud to be supporting organisations which do such good work in the community and trust that the grants will help them in providing even more services to people in Christchurch."
Grants were awarded to:
- Christchurch Rowing Club for VHF radios for communication between coaching and safety boats and emergency services
- Dorset Blind Association – financial assistance to provide a benefits service in Christchurch and to support social club
- Christchurch and Highcliffe Band for a new cornet
- Highcliffe Hawkes Football Club – new kit for their under-12s team and advertising
- Mudeford Phoenix Football Club – training balls for youth teams
- Queens Diamond Jubilee Celebration for a community fun day on the Quomps to celebrate the Jubilee
- Home Start South East Dorset – to provide support for Christchurch families in need
