THE marquees are going up, the sheep are ready to dance, the men are baking their cookies and the Bolddog Lings are revving up for what is set to  be the biggest show yet.

People can still buy tickets in advance for £10 from various Tourist Information Centres across the county and other outlets. This is a saving of £3, as tickets on the gates cost £13 for adults. The Show's chicken ambassadors are also selling tickets at Ringstead, Weymouth, Dorchester, Swanage and Lyme Regis this week. You can buy advanced tickets from the show office till Friday 2 September.  Don't forget – kids go free!

New for this year, a grassy area has been set by for people to have picnics. You will be able to buy your yummy treats from the Dorset Food Hall.

The Show is highlighting poultry this year, so visitors will be able to buy poultry and see rare breeds in the poultry tent.

Show Secretary Sam Mackenzie-Green said: 'There is such a buzz down here at the showground, everyone is working really hard to put together the final touches.

'I am really excited about the highlights this year, especially the dancing sheep!

'The Show has had record numbers of animal entries, trade stand bookings and ticket sales are up, I think this is going to be the biggest Show yet!

'The Show decided to freeze ticket prices this year and we think this is one of the reasons why the Show is looking to be bigger and better than ever before. We are one of the few shows that allows children in for free.

"There is so much going on in all areas of the show, the Dorset Food Hall is a total celebration of all things local, the horticultural tent looks fantastic and I am looking forward to seeing the new plant avenue where people are selling their plants.'
