This year the Music Festival at the Great Dorset Steam Fair will feature over 90 acts performing on five stages until Sunday 4th September across the 600 acre site at Tarrant Hinton in Dorset.

The Wurzels, legends of the West Country best known for their hits of the 70's including Combine Harvester, I am a Cider Drinker, The blackbird song and Drink up the Zider, are back by popular demand for the third year in a row. According to their website, The Wurzels are regularly asked how long will they keep going and always respond that they intend to keep going whilst they enjoy performing!

Other highlights for the Outdoor Concert Stage include The Beat, one of the most popular and influential bands of the British Ska Movement of the 1980s and Rat Race, Dorset's premier 9 piece Ska band.

Unique tribute act ZU2 will be performing for the first time at the show this year, recreating U2's sights and sounds to an unbelievably high standard, and leading Oasis tribute band, Definitely Mightbe and Girl Toyz will also be performing.

The Saturday night will showcase two new acts for this year, a Rod Stewart Tribute who not only looks like Rod Stewart but sounds like him too, followed by Jive Talkin', a tribute band that unites the UK's hottest talent for a truly inspiring evening of everything Bee Gees.

Managing Director Martin Oliver, son of founder Michael Oliver, says: "Every year the Music Festival gets bigger and this year we have our largest offering so far. The Outdoor Concert Stage will feature some fantastic ticket only acts and we have four other stages with live music all day every day.

Increasingly, many of our visitors are attracted by the live music and we are glad to be able to offer this on a huge scale this year. With hundreds of exhibits, funfair, food stalls and trade stands we've got all bases covered for a fun-filled and memorable family festival".

This year there will be five stages including the Real Ale Stage, the Folk Stage, the Shires Arms and the Black Bull Marquee, all with a full line up of free music from 12pm to midnight each day.

The main stage is the Outdoor Concert Stage with capacity for 3,000 people, which will feature ticket only performances every evening and free live music 12pm - 5pm every day. The Outdoor Concert Stage opens at 6pm with support acts from 7pm.

*Free live music is for those who have already paid entry for the fair (Day tickets are £14 for adults and £7 for children). Combined evening fair and concert tickets are also available (£9.00 each) as well as Outdoor Concert Stage only tickets (£6.00). All live music will be from 12pm - 4pm only on Sunday 4th September

The Great Dorset Steam Fair takes place from Wednesday 31st August to Sunday 4th September in Tarrant Hinton. The spectacle covers an enormous showground, at over 600 acres being one of Europe's largest outdoor event locations along with Glastonbury Festival. It is now widely recognised as "THE" National Heritage Show as well as being regarded as the leading show of its type in the World.
